DINING TERMS & CONDITIONS AND THINGS TO KNOW BEFOREHAND

DEPOSITS 

We require a £25 per person deposit upon making all reservations to secure the booking, this will be deducted from your final bill. From December 2024 onwards this will increase to £50 per person.

Please note during premium days (Christmas/Valentines) and special events (Wine Dinners/Guest Nights) deposit values may vary. You may be required to pay 50% or the full ticket value in order to secure the reservation.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We require 14 days’ notice for refundable cancellations, within 14 days deposits are non-refundable, however, can be transferred to a future booking.

PRIVATE PARTIES

We have 2 private rooms situated on the first floor. One has the capacity for parties up to 14 guests and has a room charge of £250, the other room can host a maximum of 22 guests with a room charge £400. If you were hosting an event of more than 22 people it would require a full restaurant takeover on the ground floor up to a maximum of 50 guests.

GRATUITES

A discretionary 12.5% service charge will be added to your final bill.

MENUS

For Dinner Reservations Wednesday to Saturday, we only offer our tasting menu priced at £110 per person. For Friday and Saturday Lunches we only offer a reduced tasting menu priced at £60 per person.

The chosen menu must be taken by the whole table.

The Sunday lunch menu is priced at £65 per person. All menus and formats are available to view on our Food and Drink Page.

Please note menus online are samples and can change due to availability of seasonal produce.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

We request that upon making your reservation you notify us of any allergies or dietary requirements within your party to ensure we have sufficient time to prepare an appropriate menu. With 24 hours’ notice, we can adapt to most dietary requirements but as our food includes dairy products throughout, unfortunately, we are not able to cater for guests that require a dairy-free diet. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Whilst we follow best practice at all times, it should be noted that all the dishes we serve are produced in the same kitchen that allergens are also prepared and cooked and thus we cannot guarantee that the environment will be completely allergen-free.

LAST ORDERS

Last orders for drinks will be 11.30 pm.

TRAVEL / PARKING

We do not have on-site parking, however, just behind the restaurant you will find the main town car park just off south Hawksworth Street (LS29 9DX). This offers 24-hour parking with day time rates of £1 per hour and a flat £1 charge for evenings from 6pm to midnight. From the train station we are roughly a 5-minute walk, just down off Brook Street.

DRESS CODE

At the request of our guests, The Box Tree Restaurant has a smart casual dress code.

CORKAGE

Corkage will apply from £45.00 per bottle for still wine and £55.00 per bottle for champagne/sparkling wine. This can increase, depending on the wine provided.

CHILDREN

For Dinner reservations children are welcome over the age of 10 years old.

For Lunch reservations children are welcome over the age of 5 years old.

Please note, no baby changing facilities are available. We do not provide children’s menu’s however we are able to adapt dishes from the menu.

For private parties children of any age are welcome in the allocated dining areas.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Any property damaged will be valued and charged accordingly.
